Description: Welcome! This is a pencil drawing house portrait of a home in the Greenwich, Connecticut area, a modest saltbox or Cape Cod style with dormer windows and a chimney projecting from the roof and a driveway leading to a one car garage. It is nicely landscaped with bushes and small evergreens along one side, with larger trees providing leafy shade. This was found at a charity thrift outlet in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and I'm guessing it was donated by an estate from a nearby affluent retirement community, probably someone who retired from Greenwich and brought the portrait of their former home with them. It is pencil or charcoal on paper, under glass in a gray wooden frame measuring 24 1/2 inches wide by 18 inches high. The drawing is signed on the lower right "Fradenburg 69". I'm guessing this house is probably located in the Cos Cob/Riverside/Old Greenwich area, or perhaps in the area near Greenwich Hospital, behind North Maple Ave. near the hockey fields. The card on the back is from the Left of the Bank framing and artist's shop on Sound Beach Ave. in Old Greenwich, which I understand went out of business or re-located. The name "Carty" is written at the top of the card. It might be the name of the former owners of the house portrayed. I did try to track down more information on this home, but I hit a dead end when I found out the framing shop had closed and couldn't access the public records. I have a selling price on it, but I'd be happy just to deliver it to the current owners of the home for shipping costs plus a small fee to GoAntiques for listing it. So, if anyone from the GoAntiques community can give me any information, that would be great. The frame has a few white chippy spots on it, but overall this drawing is in very good condition and really should return home to Greenwich w it belongs. Email with any questions and thank you for taking a look.
