Description:
To a Philadelphia area pine neoclassic fireplace mantelpiece. The triple arcaded shelf is supported by a course of fluted and reeded dentilation. Below are three applied tablets to the frieze having rich gouge carving, and in turn mounted to a gouge carved belt course, the ends of which form capitals for richly fluted pilasters footed on projected plinths. The interior and exterior of the mantel have richly moulded trim sections. The mantel is refinished in a rubbed green paint patina. The mantel has been hand cleaned of all old paint buildup, woodwork repairs have been made as necessary and a rich hand rubbed patina finish applied. Should you wish to paint the mantel, use a soft cloth with turpentine to remove any wax from the surface of the mantel prior to painting. NOTE: This mantle should be installed by your mechanic in accordance with all local fire and building codes. (#1708)
