Description: From a fine Rockland, Maine estate I have just acquired a small and lovely collection of Lorgnettes. This one is quite spectacular – elaborately carved from natural tortoise shell. As you can see there is a lot of work in this piece. It is shapely and carved on both sides. It is quite interesting. It is in very good condition – the glass in the eye pieces is in very good condition as well. Wonderful 19th century eye ware jewelry collectible. It measures 6 5/8” long when closed in the case.
