Description: The lacquer finish on this antique early Qing Dynasty Chinese buffet is said to be original, making the finish over 200 years old. The age, lacquer color, and design indicate that this cabinet originally belonged to a Chinese official. Aging has caused the finish to crackle, giving it a beautiful antique Asian look. The 4 removable doors are red lacquered, surrounded by the black lacquered frame. Both the sides and top are lacquered black. Inside is a shelf, creating ample storage. The door medallions are brass. At the bottom of the buffet are carvings of four dragons, also red lacquered, and two bats of happiness. This cabinet was featured in New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles magazine, October 2007.
