Description: A chance to acquire a first class example of a colored Fern Ware or Fernware serviette ring; these are extremely hard to come by. Fern ware was typical of the explosion in Victorian souvenirs when travel became so popular at the end of the nineteenth century. Starting life in the town of Mauchline, Scotland, famous for these Scottish white wood products, this was most probably purchased in Scotland as a souvenir to take home to a friend or relative.

The napkin rings were usually numbered on the back, this one bears the number 5.
