Description:
For sale is a Victorian cruet stand. (aka, castor set). c:1800's. This is a 19th C. castor set/cruet stand with 6 etched glass cruet bottles. Rogers Bros. Silverplate mark, and stands an elegant 16.75 high. It has a few minor flaws, none of which are very detracting. One of the glass stoppers has a sliver of glass missing, (on the part that fits down into the bottle, so it is not visible); one of the cruets has a different etching than the other 5; and one cruet is missing the top tiny silverplate finial. The cruet with the different etching was probably a replacment bottle at some point in its history. It is still a very beautiful Victorian era cruet stand, and would be perfect on an antique breakfront! (A book on pattern glass at the bookstore reveals that individual cruets similar to these booked at $85-125 for each cruet!)
