Authentic Audubon print of a “Anna's Hummingbird”. Protected in an archival safe ultra clear polypropylene presentation bag with an acid free backing board ready to mat with your choice of color, This print is from the “Birds of America” collection originally painted by JOHN JAMES AUDUBON (1785-1851). It was printed in approximately 1950 by The MacMillan Publishing Company, and issued in a boxed set of 50 bird prints. Never bound in book form. Overall size is 9 by12 inches. It is in very good condition and has beautiful coloring. Ornithologist Roger Tory Peterson, (August 28, 1908 – July 28, 1996), provides a commentary on the back of each print. Peterson received every major American award for natural science, ornithology, and conservation, as well as numerous honorary medals, diplomas, and citations from America and elew , including the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Order of the Golden Ark of the Netherlands.
