17 gram Canyon Diablo Meteorite, has a very unique shape to it. This rock comes from the most well preserved impact site on earth, Meteor Crater, these type meteorites are characterized by thumb printing, sharp edges, holes and bowls, many contain inclusions of graphite and occurences of black diamond have also been found, dates 20,000 to 40,000 yrs old, structural class: Coarse octahedrite, Og, Widmanstatten bandwidth 2.0, +- 0.5mm. Chemical Class: Group I, 92% Fe, 7.1% Ni, 0.46% Co, 0.26% P, about 1% C and 1% S, 80 ppm Ga, 320 ppm Ge, 1.9 ppm Ir. A very nice piece to add to your collection of Meteorites, Meteor Crater is located just north of our location near Flagstaff AZ.
