A Very Beautiful and Important Chinese Export Tureen, Lid and Stand, Circa 1780 to 1790. Pure White Porcelain, Decorated with Charming Scenes of Figures in Vast Mountainous Landscapes with Rivers, Forest and Streams, Done in Various Blue Tones, a Very Complicated and Difficult Technique, Often Left to the More Talented and Expert Painters. The Lid of the Tureen is Adorned with a Finial in the Shape of a Traditional European Crown. The Bowl of the Tureen is Raised on a Inverted Curved Base, With Handles in the Form of Grimacing Screaming Monkeys, The Original Matching Stand is Shaped to Echo the Shape of the Bottom of the Tureen. A Very Similar Tureen, if not exact, can be found in the Oriental Collections of The Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. In Excellent Condition. No chips, cracks, breaks.
