Unique piece for scholars and literati

Description: Ming Dynasty (c. 1368-1644 ) In 1368 Zhu Yuanzhang proclaimed himself Emperor and set up the capital in Nanjing. In 1421 the 3rd emperor of the Ming reign moved the capital to Beijing. This is known as the great age of scholarship. Buddhist sculpture declined. Boldly sculpted and brightly colored tiles are typical of the Ming Dynasty, and there was a love for color and luxurious living. The Blue and White porcelain technique of the Yuan was refined, and the popularity of these artistic creations soared.!

Historical Value - Antiques bring the standards of haute couture into the home. Antiquities are works of art or utilitarian objects from ancient times, which have normally been excavated from tombs or historical sites. The huge worldwide demand for these ancient and often beautiful pieces has led to a critical shortage and therefore prices have soared to an unprecedented higher level.

DESCRIPTION: INSTONE ENGRAVED IN A FORM OF INFANT TURTLE

Instone was once an object indispensable in the life of the Èlite. It is one of the four essential writing implements in China, the other three being the brush, ink and paper.

It is engraved in a form of infant turtle and the doomed lid with text inscriptions and graphic patterns. It demonstrates the involvement of upper-class men in a widening range of artistic practices, as well as the expanding scope for the use of the ancient script forms. P.S. More images can be provided upon request.
