Description:
This Church & Dwight Company trade card is No. 2 in Series No. 4 and pictures a Black Duck. It is in fair condition with no tears, holes, folds or creases. There is some minor corner rounding and it had been glued onto something and there was surface paper pulled off the back when removed and there is glue residue. The illustration was done by Louis Agassiz Fuertes who was a friend of Charles T. Church, Senior Officer of Church & Dwight Company, Inc. Church commissioned Fuertes in the early 1920's to paint a series of bird card illustrations. These cards were given away packed in boxes of Arm & Hammer and Cow Brand Baking Soda and have some facts on the back about the company and the bird illustrated. This Church & Dwight Company advertising bird trade card is 2 7/8" long and 1 7/8" wide.
