The SCRUMPTIOUSLY LOVELY colors used in this Work of Art are a mixture of Soothingly Subdued yet STILL VIVIDLY COLORFUL Pastels: Lime Green, Seafoam Green, Teal, Peach Melba, Pumpkin Orange, Strawberry Red, Daffodil Yellow, Turquoise Blue, Maroon Red, Rust Brown, Chocolate Brown, Snowy Milky White, and minute splashes of Jet Black When held up in front of a window/lighting the colors truly POP! ***Though later in his career he allowed his Vanguard Studios students to sign his name, at which time he modified own future signature for works he personally worked on to "LEE REYNOLDS BURR," during the early period of his artistic career (THE PERIOD OF TIME WHICH WE BELIEVE THIS PAINTING TO STEM FROM) he signed as "LEE REYNOLDS" Artist: Lee Reynolds Burr (1936- ); known for Abstraction, Printmaker; lived/active California ***EXCERPTED RESEARCH INFO: "LEE REYNOLDS BURR has long been a central figure in American Art. The Artist's highly distinctive paintings began appearing in important collections more than 35 years ago. Today, the artist's canvases and graphics enjoy an international collector audience and appear in countless public collections. The artist remains widely recognized as having massively elevated the aesthetic standards measuring decorative art, with the founding of Vanguard Studios in the mid to late 60's. Taken on as a side project, Burr saw to the organization as becoming the major international source of cutting-edge sculptures and paintings produced as decorative art objects. More than 35 years ago, Burr assigned creative guidance to others and liquidated his interest in Vanguard Studios. To this day, Vanguard Studios trade name signature "Lee Reynolds", appears on more canvases globally than any other. Burr's personal works carry the artist's full signature: "Lee Reynolds Burr". The pieces require no signature; characteristic methods of expression reveal authorship. Whether entirely non-objective or largely representational, the artist's compositions are united by stylistic conventions common to all. In each we find indistinct margins supporting highly distinct central imagery; deft drawing defining subject; impasto enriching surface quality; harmonic coloring uniting content; pattern complementing the whole. The painter's works issue a mature talent; they tell us of an artist entirely confident of his powers. Taken in entirety, Burr's is a grand performance. We are privileged to share his impressions, to share his insights, to share his dreams...Selected Commissions Include: Los Angeles International Airport, The Artists Alliance of America, Radisson Hotels International, Exhibit 1 Gallery-Beverly Hills, Harrod's-London, Joe Robbie Stadium-Miami; Selected Collections: Flint Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Columbus Museum, Miami Art Museum, New York Graphic Society, The East Park Collection, The Palladium of American Art, Kaui Museum."
