We acquired this marvelous clock from a French estate in the South of France near Cannes.
This slim and elegantly wall clock is made of the finest burr walnut and has a gorgeous patina!!The burr walnut is decorated with ebony ornaments.
The movement is a 8-days bronze clockwork and driven by 1 brass weight, it is a so called silent clock.The bronze clockwork is signed on the back with the numerals 24502 and the emblem of Gustav Becker and is made by Gustav Becker,the famous German clockmaker.The porcelain dial with Roman numerals has a few minimum haircracks but that raise the beauty of this wall clock.Around the dial is a bronze ring,heavily carved, and here in Europe they call that a bridal wreath.The steel handmade hands are very beautiful.The clock case and movement are in perfect condition and the clock runs on time.
