Description: 19th century hand hammered brass wood or coal box. I just couldn’t live without these boxes. Unbelievably so perfect & handy to store the coal or wood pieces that you need to keep your fires burning! This one is the best little size measuring only 11 ½” high x 16” Wide x 10 ½” Deep. The copper is hand hammered on wood, the condition is excellent. The overall scene is a sailing ship on top & front with stylized ocean waves on each side. The interior is nice & clean & the outside has a perfect rich patina. Dating from the late 1800’s, sturdy & a necessary item to have near the woodstove or fireplace.
