Description: Very cool pair of cufflinks, crafted from Japanese menuki decorated with a menacing war horse motif. Originally these were used to decorate and personalize Japanese swords - applied to the swords handle to provide a better grip. Crafted from copper alloy over sterling with gold and silver accents for the horse’s battle armor, they measure 1 ½” x ¾”, they are in good condition with some slight, expected wear. The menuki date from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s, silver solder was used to add the cufflink backs sometime later. Truly one of a kind links that would make a wonderful gift!
