Description:
Pair of Antique French Trumeau Mirrors from a Painted Boiserie (Wooden Paneled Room) – Good Antique Condition –Mirrors Replaced- Chips to paint – Circa 1860
This is a rare "pair" of antique French trumeau mirrors that once graced a painted boiseried (wooden paneled) room in France. The mirrors were replaced at one point in their recent history. The carved wooden ornamentation in the panel above the mirrors is a cluster of grapes surrounded by grape leaves. The simplicity of the mirrors and the chipping of the old white paint belies the fact they were once in a more formal environment, through far from ostentatious.
Pairs of trumeaux are exceedingly difficult to find.
Mirror on Left-H=56 5/8, W=43
Mirror on Right-H=57 1/2, W=44 1/4
