Description:
We have this beautiful music box from the hit film, Gone With The Wind which came out in 1939. This box if from The San Francisco Music Box Company and plays Tara's Theme. The scene is Scarlett getting ready to go to the ball at Tara with Mammy's help. The stand is wooden and the figurines of Scarlett and Mammy appear to be fine porcelain but I beleive they are a resin material. The piece is in excellent condition and is not fragile which accounts for the superb condition. There is a very tiny nick on the wooden stand towards the back. It is very difficult to see at all. A little trivia about the movie. The movie came out in 1939 and was a huge hit around the world. It was such a phenomenum for so many years that it was researched. The research found that the reason for the wide appeal of this movie had nothing to do with the Civil War. The reason for the appeal was the admiration for Scarlett and her determination and ability and desire to survive against constant threat of death and all odds. Please see photos!
