Description:
The Seth Thomas Clock Company produced a series of clocks which they named after various larger U.S. cities. This was their 'OMAHA' model and it's surely rare to find one in such pristine condition. The Walnut case includes attractive gold striping around the door frame and the top gallery rail retains all of its original ornaments. Inside the case is a clean, recently serviced eight-day movement in the Lyar pattern, (see photograph). All of the accompanying features, pendulum "bob", dial ring, alarm mechanism bell and pendulum "leader" were nicely polished. The brass movement, beat scale and other brass are also clean and polished. One of the more exceptional features of this clock is its original painted dial which, except for one tiny touch-up retains its paint better than most clocks this old. 'ST' initials are painted on the dial face. All these outstanding features combine to make this a really great clock which is priced lower than they were in 2005.
