Item Description:
This is a beautiful mahogany davenport or small writing desk. The top of the piece opens to reveal a storage area and the slant lid flips up to reveal a storage area with 8 small drawers. There are 4 smooth operating drawers on either side of the desk which operate smoothly and are well constructed with dovetail joinery. They all have lovely fancy handles. The slant lid opens vertically and it has an attractive green leather pad insert on its center. The supports on either side of the front are pierced and accent carved stretching down to bun feet. This piece is surprisingly heavy and very strong and sturdy. With many storage areas and a writing surface this lovely chest will be welcome in any room you choose to use it in.
