Description:
We try not to describe a clock as RARE unless it really IS !! But, this particular clock has been deemed "rare" by several leading antique clock experts....so we will follow suit. The Seth Thomas "DIXIE" was made around 1924 and is one of their largest shelf clocks. The 28" height includes an abundance of applied brass ornamentation and the fancy pendulum "bob" compleats the "look" of this great clock. The dial pan was replaced at some time in the clock's history and matches the original perfectly. It includes the ST logo and Seth Thomas name below the numeral six. In addition to all these features, there is an alarm mechanism---which adds even more to the value of the clock. If you're looking for a clock that will probably never again be available for sale, then this is the one for you!!
