DESCRIPTION: VENUS TEACHER OF LOVE. Who could very well speak of love and charm by her gestures and her works was certainly Venus, the goddess of love. We can see her in this framework with an expression between the dreamy and satisfied: she presents a rose to Adonis and at the same time, look at Mars, god of the war. Venus was a capricious goddess and she arranged many troubles to mortals arousing or dissolving constraints passions and love. But her malicious son Love (Eros), threw one of his arrows and let her fall in love of Adonis: a young and beautiful hunter, whose premature death (murdered by Mars, jealous for the real love between Venus and Adonis), plunged the love goddess into despair.
